NOTE: This course is designed to be hands-on, taking photos and making prints weighs more than the video assignments, "do nows", reading assignments and work sheets. That being said, all students are aware that the assignments I give are here online, those that are absent can easily make up many of the assignments at home. Success in any quarter is based on the previous quarter's learning. I encourage all students to complete all assignments, shoot the film I gave you at home if you are out, and come back to school ready to develop the film and make prints. All students either have their own camera or one I purchased and lent to them, please follow the rules of good composition and remember to focus the camera, photos with poor composition and out of focus are not worth printing, as it would not be pleasing to look at, and deductions would be taken. Film that does not come out because of operator error simply must be re-shot. There was only ONE roll of film due this entire quarter- if a student cannot manage to make time to shoot one roll that comes out successfully in a 10 week period, there are also class cameras set up to take photos in class and after school in which the film from the students classroom effort can also be used for the 1-roll film requirement. In other words it is impossible to have any reason not to pass this course unless you choose not to try.
